Video: Immigrants rights group says ICE is targeting kids in North Carolina

Immigrant rights advocates speak out in one North Carolina city after ICE targets kids. Here’s what they had to say.

Two Durham children were deported along with their parents this week after a routine check-in with immigration officials, Siembra NC said on Thursday.

Siembra’s Andreina Malki said at a news conference in Durham that the family applied for asylum in 2022 after arriving in the US from Honduras, doing everything officials had asked of them.

The family was deported, and the children, Genesis, 11, and Denis, 6, were removed from their community, school, and classmates, Malki said.
