Dr. Abby Schultz, a Durham OB-GYN, spoke with @cardinalandpine about the repercussions of North Carolina’s 12-week abortion ban.
“It puts us in a really hard situation where we end up having to be the face of the law and the face of a law that we don’t agree with,” says Schultz. “That we think is harmful to people and to patients and people with uteruses in our state and in the southeast.”
NC’s GOP leadership in the legislature passed the ban in 2023, and some Republican lawmakers have said they might seek more strict bans if the 2024 elections go well for them.
