“Good Morning America” brought some national shine to Asheville this week with a live broadcast from the Biltmore Estate. Nearly a year after Hurricane Helene, the show celebrated the city’s recovery as a part of GMA’s “America the Beautiful” tour, spotlighting local groups and businesses and reminding viewers that Asheville is as vibrant and welcoming as ever.
Students and Volunteers Pack 22,680 Meals to Fight Hunger

Nearly 200 students and staff volunteers came together this fall to package 22,680 meals in just a few hours, providing hope and nourishment for communities in need. The annual Rise Against Hunger event is a fun tradition and an uplifting reminder of how small acts of service can make a huge impact.
New Public Park Receives Funding in Buncombe County
A major grant was approved, clearing the way for trails, views, and community green space.
Buncombe County just got a big boost with a $4.4 million grant to help secure Deaverview Mountain as a public park. The land will soon be protected and opened up for hiking, scenic overlooks, and exploring nature, making it one of the largest outdoor spaces in the county for residents and visitors to enjoy.
