A recent decision will allow UNC students to vote with their mobile One Card, a step toward modernizing access in elections.

Guess what? UNC students can now vote with their phones!

Our multimedia reporter Jessica F. Simmons (@jessrepthenews) explains that the NC State Board of Elections has approved the Mobile UNC One Card as a valid ID for voting in the November elections.

While not everyone is on board—Republicans have expressed concerns—this move should make it easier for college students to cast their votes. It’s definitely a step towards modernizing voter access in the democratic process.
