When she and President Biden took office in 2021, most Medicaid recipients could only receive two months of postpartum care. Harris said she challenged the states to offer 12 months of coverage to patients on Medicaid. “I am proud, North Carolina, to report so far, a total of 45 states have now completed that challenge, including North Carolina,” she said.
