On August 1st, North Carolina homeowners could be hit with steep insurance rate hikes.
The North Carolina Rate Bureau has requested an average increase of 42.2%.
Some counties on the coast, like Carteret and Onslow counties, could see rates increase as much as 99.4%
The public has the opportunity to provide input about these potential rate hikes during a public forum at the Albemarle Building, 325 N. Salisbury St. in Raleigh.
