On the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a NC minister explains why Republican lawmakers’ abortion ban has made life more dangerous for women.

Lawmakers’ 12-week abortion ban, which was part of 2023’s Senate Bill 20, has made it harder for women who need emergency medical care to get it quickly.

Rodrigues says it “mandates suffering, suffering that is an affront to human rights and to my beliefs as a Christian.” For Cardinal & Pine’s deep-dive into the history of reproductive freedom in NC, click here.
