Alamance County mom Tameka Harvey filed to run for school board on Friday.
Harvey has children enrolled in schools that were impacted by the mold outbreak that delayed the start of the school year by two weeks this year. She says the mold crisis was a key motivation behind her decision to run for a seat on the board.

Harvey says that some parents are still afraid to send their children into the schools.
“I know of parents that still have not sent their kids back… they’re just not sure that the schools are safe.”

If elected, Harvey says she hopes to bring transparency to the board, and reassure concerned parents.
