Our teachers are the backbone of our communities and spend more than $500 out of their own pockets every year to provide school supplies for their students. School supply drives help alleviate costs for teachers and North Carolina’s students in need.
There are donation bins at all branches of the State Employee Credit Union (SECU), and there is at least one location per county.
Here are the NC school supplies educators are requesting:
- Paper – all types, including copy paper
- Pens and pencils
- Crayons and markers
- Dry erase markers
- USB flash drives
- Spiral notebooks
- Sanitizing wipes
- Tissues
After the drive ends, Gov. Roy Cooper’s cabinet, SECU, Communities in Schools of North Carolina, and VolunteerNC will give out the donations to public school classrooms around the state.
